The False Economy Of Unnecessary Bureaucracy
I find it amazing how some companies have layers of unnecessary bureaucracy that limits speed and agility to such and extent that whatever benefit was in process, it is self-diluted every time.
Some companies put in multiple levels of procedures that have been arranged to (ironically), make things more efficient – but in fact, all the procedures do is justify job roles, upset suppliers and confuse customers.
One company I knew spent so long in legal/finance back-and-forth dealings that by the time the deal was in play, the market had significantly moved on and they were left with a bunch of paperwork and no benefit whatsoever.
Dealing light – within the law – is a better way.
Keeping things simple – and honest – is more effective than complication.
Agility is so key in a fast-changing fluid world that limiting factors need to be eradicated – or better still – not put in place to begin with.
