I used to use DMX Zone for geeky stuff but haven’t done for ages.

I get their emails regularly.

Today I decided to opt-out.

So – I clicked the link:

Arrived at this page:

I don’t remember my password and all I wanted to do was opt-out.

So their mails are now reported as spam in Googles filter:

Hitting the nail on the head. Whilst "brands" want to have their logo emblazoned over every login box it just creates confusion and a feeling that OpenID is not ready for primetime. I guess in an ideal world one's browser would know which provider(s) the reader utilises and only show the likely options - that would be a big step forward IMO

So been there and done that whole "Report Spam" opt out routine.

One nice thing that legislation brought in for NZ users is that NZ companies must provide a simple single click unsubscribe in any emails. You click it, it's gone.

So easy to do with a URI but so often a failure when implemented.
