Bit.ly – Genius.ly

Bit.ly rocks.

I have completely stopped using TinyURL since ReadWriteWeb wrote about bit.ly last month – click here for article.

Betaworks (the creators) have nailed the hell out of short URL. Good on ‘em.

The feature set is awesome – I love the fact you can customise the keywords and the cache and reporting tools are insane.

At the time of writing I haven’t been able to sleep on PST so spent the night blogging and registering truck loads of keywords (once they’re gone they’re gone) for my upcoming book: The Communication Ideal.

Here is a small sample of of my bit.ly blitz through the early hours:

Genius.

  1. Thanks for great review! :)

We're currently on the next version of bit.ly which will support user accounts along with user specific keywords, among other things. As a signed in user, you'll have the option of creating keywords in your own name space that will be tracked distinctly, and also can be edited. Example: http://jmac.bit.ly/disruption.

Thanks again, and please let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see.
