Sometimes there is a big difference between what you find acceptable and what others find acceptable.
Sometimes you don’t know the gap exists, let alone for what reasons.
People may stop reading a certain paper due to one article they vehemently disagreed with.
People may stop visiting a fish & chip takeaway due to one dodgy meal that [...]
